"You have to believe in yourself and you have to really want it. ... Don't do it for me, don't do it for your probation officer, don't do it for your wife, do it for yourself. And if you do that for yourself, then you can believe in yourself. We're going to make sure that you have everything you need. We're going to give you what it takes to be successful." - Darryl Hallman, Director of AYT Institute
Darryl Hallman, Director of the AYT Institute of Washington, D.C., was interviewed by Leonard Sipes of CSOSA for DC Public Safety on September 14, 2010.
Mr. Hallman described the efforts that AYT Institute has taken to give back to the community by providing automotive technology training to students from the local area, an apprenticeship upon completion of the training program, and ultimately the opportunity for a new career.
Many of the students who have enrolled in the AYT Institute have previously been involved in the criminal justice system. AYT Institute provides a second chance and the opportunity for a successful career that many are hoping for.
